Mercedes-Benz - CLSMercedes CLS350 Battery Replacement in Dubai
A CLS has no window frames, so the glass itself has to seal against the rubber, dropping a few millimetres as you open the door and rising again as it shuts. That only happens while there is voltage to do it with, and the learned positions are lost whenever the battery goes flat or is disconnected. Battery Zone UAE fits the right battery at your location in Dubai and resets those windows afterwards, which is the part most people skip.

Mercedes CLS350 by Generation
Three cars have carried this badge, and the frameless doors are the one thing all of them share. Where the small auxiliary battery hides is the thing that changes.
The original four-door coupe that started the body style. Simpler electrically than what followed, but the frameless glass and its drop-and-seal behaviour are already there.
The second generation. The small auxiliary unit sits in a side panel of the dash on the driver's side on earlier cars and moves to the boot near the spare wheel on later ones, which is why owners get conflicting answers.
The third CLS, sharing its platform and electrical architecture with the W213 E-Class, with mild-hybrid assistance on the six-cylinder versions and a heavier standing load from MBUX.
Why a Flat CLS Will Not Shut Properly
On a car with ordinary doors the window sits inside a metal frame, and the frame does the sealing. A CLS has no frame, so the top edge of the glass presses directly into the rubber. For the door to clear that seal when it opens, the car drops the glass a few millimetres, then lifts it back once the door is closed.
All of that depends on electricity. The owner's manual says so directly: with a discharged battery the side windows will not open or close, and it warns against forcing the door shut. People do force it, understandably, and the result is a seal that gets pinched and a door that never quite closes the same way again.
There is a second-order problem. The motors learn where fully up and fully down are, and that memory is stored on the assumption of a stable supply. Drop the voltage far enough, or disconnect the battery, and the car can lose it. Then the glass stops short of the seal, you get wind noise on Sheikh Zayed Road, and water finds its way in during the rains. It is not a broken regulator; it is a calibration that needs doing.
What Battery Zone UAE Does Differently on a CLS
The battery is half the job on this body style. The other half is leaving the doors working.

Signs Worth Acting On
On a frameless car the doors and windows complain before the starter does.
Wind noise at speed that was not there last month
A window that no longer quite reaches the seal when the door closes
Glass dropping when you open the door but not lifting afterwards
An auxiliary battery message, which points at the small unit rather than the main one
Start-stop dropping out on cars that have it
Any battery past its second Dubai summer
The Visit
Generation Established
W219, W218 or C257 decides the battery, where the auxiliary lives and whether mild-hybrid assistance is in the picture.
A Technician Is Sent Out
Home, office or roadside anywhere in Dubai, 24 hours a day, with the right parts already loaded.
Tested and Replaced
Main battery under load, auxiliary unit, charging output and standing draw, then the failed part fitted and coded.
Doors Proved
Windows re-learned, each door opened and shut, the seal checked. The car leaves behaving as it should.
Mercedes CLS350 Battery Questions
Because the car drops the frameless glass slightly to let the door clear the seal and raises it again when the door shuts, and with no power it cannot do either. The manual specifically warns against forcing the door. Once the battery is sorted the windows usually need their positions re-learned, which we do as part of the job.
Each window is run fully down and the switch held for a couple of seconds, then fully up and held again, so the motor relearns both end stops. Battery Zone UAE technicians do this on every CLS they fit a battery to, because skipping it is what leaves owners with wind noise.
It depends on the build. On earlier W218 cars it sits in a side panel of the dash on the driver's side, and on later ones it moved to the boot near the spare wheel. That is why owners get contradictory answers online. Our technician checks the car rather than guessing.
It can be. If the glass is stopping a few millimetres short of the seal because its learned position was lost during a flat battery or a disconnection, the result is exactly the whistle people describe at speed. Re-learning the window costs nothing and rules it out before anyone talks about door seals or regulators.
The six-cylinder versions carry mild-hybrid assistance, so there is a 48V battery alongside the 12V. The 12V is still what wakes the car and runs the doors, windows and MBUX, and it is still what strands the car when it fails.
