Mercedes-Benz - GLCMercedes GLC300 Battery Replacement in Dubai
The GLC300 swapped its battery from one end of the car to the other between generations. On the X253 the 12V AGM is under the bonnet on the passenger side; on the X254 it moved to the rear and a lithium 48V battery for the mild-hybrid system took the front spot under the cabin air filter. Battery Zone UAE knows both layouts, checks the X253's battery tray while it is there, and tests, fits and registers the correct battery at your location in Dubai.

Mercedes GLC300 by Generation
The name stayed the same, the electrical system did not. Find the years your car was built in and the differences that matter.
The 2.0 litre M274 at 241hp, then the M264 from the 2019 facelift. 12V AGM in the engine bay under the passenger-side cover, auxiliary unit under the footwell carpet. The battery tray on this generation is worth inspecting.
The 2.0 litre M254 with an integrated starter generator and 48V mild-hybrid system. The 12V AGM moves to the rear of the car; the lithium 48V battery sits at the front under the cabin air filter. Charging of both runs through the 12V.

Battery Zone UAE confirms the generation from the VIN before the visit. Some facelift X253 markets carried a 48V system; the technician checks on arrival.
A Cracked Tray Is a Battery Problem Too
The tray that holds the X253's battery is a plastic moulding, and on the 2015 to 2023 C-Class, E-Class and GLC it is reported to crack with age and heat. In Dubai it has plenty of both. A cracked tray lets the battery shift under braking and over speed bumps, and a battery that moves is a battery that dies early, because vibration fractures the plates inside it.
It also stresses the hold-down and the terminals, and an intermittent terminal connection on a modern Mercedes produces a stream of electrical faults that look nothing like a battery problem. Battery Zone UAE technicians check the tray, the clamp and the terminal seating every time an X253 battery is replaced, and say so if the tray needs attention.
On the X254 the tray moved to the back of the car with the battery, and the design changed. What that generation adds instead is the 48V system: a lithium battery under the cabin air filter at the front, charged through the 12V by a DC converter. A weak 12V on an X254 therefore affects the 48V side as well, which is one more reason to keep it healthy.

GLC300 Symptoms That Call for a Test
An SUV that does the school run and the mall is exactly the use that wears a battery out unnoticed.
Start-stop that has stopped working, the first sign on either generation
Slow cranking after the car has sat in the sun through the afternoon
An auxiliary battery malfunction message, which points at the footwell unit on an X253
Reduced mild-hybrid boost or a related message on an X254
Electrical oddities on an X253 that come and go with bumps, which can be the tray
Any battery past its second summer on a car that parks outdoors

Mercedes GLC300 Battery Questions
On the X253 built from 2015 to 2022 it is in the engine bay on the passenger side, under the plastic cover in front of the windscreen. On the X254 from 2022 it moved to the rear of the car, and the 48V lithium battery sits at the front under the cabin air filter. Battery Zone UAE confirms the generation from the year before setting off.
An AGM of 80 to 92Ah in an H7 or H8 case depending on the generation and equipment. Battery Zone UAE confirms the exact fitment from your VIN rather than the badge, because equipment level changes the answer.
On the X253 it refers to the small unit under the passenger footwell carpet, which on some cars is a battery and on others a capacitor. It supports the electronics during start-stop restarts. Replacing the main battery does not clear the message; testing and replacing the auxiliary unit does.
Yes. The X254 runs the M254 engine with an integrated starter generator and a lithium 48V battery at the front of the car under the cabin air filter. It is charged through the 12V battery by a converter, so the 12V still matters as much as it ever did.
Because the X253's tray is a reported weak point on 2015 to 2023 Mercedes C, E and GLC models, and a cracked tray lets the battery move. Movement shortens battery life and causes intermittent electrical faults. It takes a minute to inspect while the battery is out.
Yes, on both generations. The car charges according to what it knows about the battery, so a new one has to be declared or it is under- or over-charged from the start. Battery Zone UAE codes it at your location as part of every fitting.
