The G500 badge runs across the old shape and the new, and the electrical headroom you are working with differs considerably between them.
The long-running original, with naturally aspirated and later twin-turbo V8s. A simpler electrical system with less factory load, which is part of why it attracts so much aftermarket equipment.
The redesigned G-Class with the M176 V8 and far more standard equipment of its own. There is less spare headroom for accessories here than owners expect, and more systems to upset when something is wired in badly.

A factory G500 has a battery and an alternator sized for a factory G500. Switched accessories are the easy half of the problem, because they only draw when you use them. The harder half is anything wired to a permanent live: trackers, some camera systems, badly installed alarms and audio that never fully powers down. Those keep taking current after you lock the car, and a vehicle that is parked for days at a time between desert trips has no opportunity to recover.
The useful answer is often not a bigger battery. If the load is genuinely high, a properly installed second battery with the right isolator keeps the camping equipment separate from the starting battery, so that an evening with the fridge running does not leave you unable to start in the morning.
