Mercedes-Benz - E-ClassMercedes E300 Battery Replacement in Dubai
An E300 built in 2018 and an E300 built in 2021 can be different cars underneath: one a plain 2.0 turbo, the other a 48V EQ Boost mild hybrid, and there is a plug-in E300e as well. What they share is a group H8 12V AGM of around 92Ah that every other system depends on to wake up. Battery Zone UAE identifies which E300 you have, tests the 12V and the electrified systems, and replaces and codes the battery at your location in Dubai.

Mercedes E300 by Generation
On the W213 the E300 badge covers three drivetrains. Which one you have decides what the technician tests before touching the 12V battery.
The 2.0 litre M274 turbo at 245hp. A conventional car with an H8 AGM in the boot and an auxiliary unit in the footwell. The most straightforward of the three to diagnose.
The 2.0 litre M264 at 258hp with a belt-driven starter generator and a compact 48V lithium battery. The 12V H8 remains and still does all of the waking, unlocking and running of the electronics.
The M274 paired with an electric motor and a high-voltage battery under the boot floor. The 12V AGM is still fitted and still the reason the car will not wake when it goes flat.
Same Badge, Three Drivetrains
The boot lid says E300 on all of them. The battery test does not.

Battery Zone UAE reads the engine and drivetrain from the VIN on the phone, so the technician arrives knowing which of the three to test.
The 12V Still Does the Waking Up
It is a common assumption that an electrified E300 has outgrown the humble 12V battery. It has not. The 48V battery on an EQ Boost car powers a starter generator and a little torque assistance, and the high-voltage pack on an E300e drives the wheels. Neither of them unlocks the doors, boots the control units or runs MBUX. That is the 12V AGM in the boot, exactly as on the petrol car.
When the 12V is flat, none of the clever systems can be reached. The car cannot close its high-voltage contactors or spin its starter generator because the control units that would give the order are dark. So an electrified E300 with a dead 12V is as immobile as any other Mercedes, and it is fixed the same way: the correct H8 AGM, fitted and registered.
What changes is the diagnosis before the fitting. A weak 48V battery on an EQ Boost car shows as lost boost and a message, and a tired 12V on an E300e shows as a car that will not enter ready mode, and both are easy to misread. Battery Zone UAE reads the car's own reporting on those systems first, so the 12V is only replaced when it is the fault.

Signs an E300 Is Losing Its 12V
The tells differ a little between the three drivetrains. These cover all of them.
Start-stop that no longer engages on an M274 car
Lost or reduced EQ Boost assistance, with or without a message, on an M264 car
An E300e that will not enter ready mode despite a charged high-voltage battery
An auxiliary battery malfunction message, which points at the footwell unit
Media, seat and climate settings resetting overnight
Any 12V battery past its second Dubai summer

Mercedes E300 Battery Questions
A group H8 AGM, also listed as L5 or 49, at around 92Ah and 850 cold cranking amps, in a 354 x 175 x 190mm case. That is the 12V battery on the petrol E300, the E300 EQ Boost and the E300e alike. Battery Zone UAE confirms it against your VIN.
The 12V main battery is in the boot on the right-hand side behind a trim panel. The auxiliary unit is in the passenger footwell behind the glovebox trim. On the E300e the high-voltage battery is under the boot floor and is not something a battery call-out touches.
Yes. The M264 EQ Boost E300 carries a compact 48V lithium battery that powers a belt-driven starter generator. It works alongside the 12V AGM rather than replacing it, and the 12V is still what wakes the car and runs its electronics.
Usually not. If the high-voltage battery shows charge but the car will not enter ready mode, the 12V AGM is the first suspect, because the control units that manage the hybrid system run on it. Battery Zone UAE tests the 12V first and reads the car's own hybrid reporting before suggesting anything else.
Yes, on all three variants. The car's charging strategy is set from what it knows about the battery, and on an EQ Boost car the starter generator manages the 12V charge as well. Battery Zone UAE registers the new battery at the roadside as part of every fitting.
Two to three years is typical. A boot-mounted H8 runs cooler than an engine-bay battery, which helps, but summer temperatures still roughly halve the life you would see in a mild climate. Battery Zone UAE tests batteries free, so checking every six months past two years is easy.
